SUPPORTING THE BSO RESIDENT FELLOWS PROGRAM

As a tribute to Mark Volpe, the BSO is establishing The Volpe Fund to help launch and ensure the success of the new BSO Resident Fellows Program, a highly selective training opportunity for exceptional young professional musicians from historically underrepresented populations in the orchestra field. The program will mentor and prepare talented musicians to win positions in the BSO and other major orchestras.

Starting in 2022, Resident Fellows will commence their BSO tenure as Tanglewood Music Center Fellows and continue to the end of the Boston Pops season of the following calendar year. In addition to performances with the orchestra, the Fellowship will include educational and community engagement assignments, vocational training, and audition preparation and travel support.

The BSO Resident Fellows Program will create a pathway toward a more diverse and inclusive orchestra field of tomorrow by providing high quality performing experiences with a world-class orchestra and a wide range of vocational training and support.

The BSO seeks gifts of any size to support the Volpe Fund. By donating to the Volpe Fund, you will ensure the success of this important program for which Mark cares so deeply.
