Many people have asked me how I became interested in opera. The answer is my mother, who was trained in voice at Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. She had a beautiful mezzosoprano voice, and while I did not have her musical talent, I jumped at the opportunity to become a Pittsburgh Opera board member in 2009, in celebration of the beauty of the human voice.
I am excited that the performing arts are back this fall of 2021, and Pittsburgh Opera is leading the way. We will be on the main stage at the Benedum, while maintaining COVID safety protocols. Join me in celebrating Pittsburgh Opera’s Return to Magic by making a contribution to our efforts to bring live music performance back into our lives. The first performance is Mozart’s The Magic Flute on Saturday, November 6 at the Benedum. I hope to see you there!
